Парижский гипс
Во множестве различных публикаций, посвященных изготовлению лепнины, можно найти упоминания об этом чудо-материале. Одни авторы присваивают ему чуть ли не волшебные свойства, а другие считают умелым орудием в руках шарлатанов. Так что же на самом деле представляет собой парижский гипс?
Умелая реклама и продуманный маркетинг
Некоторые французские лаборатории, например, Atelier Sedap, утверждают, что используют для своих работ какой-то особенный материал с высочайшей дисперсностью и необыкновенной белизной. Кроме этого, французы указывают на особую экологичность применяемого сырья. Многие российские компании «подхватили эстафету» и пишут, что применяют тоже «парижский гипс». Однако факты свидетельствуют о том, что подобные утверждения в большинстве своем — простая реклама.
Утверждение о том, что этот вид гипсового сырья отличается особой схватываемостью, тоже спорное. Оно пошло из-за неверного перевода, ведь в английском языке термином Plaster of Paris обозначается строительный алебастр, имеющий несколько другую сферу применения.
Отечественное сырье нисколько не хуже
На территории нашей страны запасы гипса имеются в Пермском крае, Самарской, Саратовской, Волгоградской области, Краснодарском крае и Карачаево-Черкесии.
По мнению многих специалистов, самое высококачественное гипсовое сырье добывают в шахтах Нижегородской области, причем часть его идет на экспорт, возвращаясь в Россию в виде готового обработанного двухводного сульфата кальция. Кроме того, часть европейской продукции вырабатывается из китайского, иранского и таиландского гипса.
Из-за развитой мировой инфраструктуры добычи и переработки гипса, его происхождение зачастую определить невозможно. В этом случае гораздо более важными свойствами материала для изготовления лепнины является его качество, а также эстетичность и износостойкость изготавливаемых изделий. Эти параметры зависят не только от места добычи CaSO4*2H2O, но и от условий хранения, качества помола и, несомненно, мастерства людей, изготавливающих элементы лепного декора.
Таким образом, особые свойства парижского гипса в большинстве своем, надуманы. Чтобы стать обладателем прекрасных лепных украшений, не нужно ехать во Францию. Выбирая изделия отечественных мастеров, вы нисколько не прогадаете.
