On access scan что это
SharePoint web parts (such as wiki pages and forums hosted on the SharePoint server) that are created or modified
If the subsystems that scan an object detect no threats, malicious links, and unwanted content, the application allows the user to handle this object. If a subsystem detects a threat, malicious link, or unwanted content, the application performs the action that has been configured for each scan type.
Objects are scanned by subsystems one by one. If an object was blocked by the application during a scan by a subsystem, the remaining subsystems do not scan this object. If a file was blocked during an anti-virus scan, the application does not apply content filtering to this file.
If failures occur in the operation of the application subsystems, some file may remain unscanned. By default, unscanned files are skipped without being scanned. You can configure the application so that it will block all files that cannot be scanned. Contact Technical Support for additional details.

About the restricted scan mode
If one of the scanning subsystems is freezing during an on-access scan, the application switches to the restricted scan mode by default. In this case, some objects may remain unscanned. When the application switches to the restricted scan mode, the following information is recorded to Windows Event Log:
If the application switches to the restricted scan mode, the Control Center node displays a warning. For example, if a phishing scan is freezing, the following warning is displayed: Restricted scan mode enabled. Some objects can be skipped without being scanned for phishing. Information about files that have not been scanned by the application due to the restricted scan mode will be logged to the report with the Scan errors status.
The restricted scan mode does not affect on-demand scanning or data leak prevention.
The restricted scan mode can be disabled. For additional information about how to disable the restricted scan mode please contact Technical Support.

Что честно говоря меня не порадовало), так как надо собирать модуль
ядра, а почитав статью показалось что установка Dazuko потребует
парки с ядром.

а фраза
AVFS (2004-ish?) and Samba-vscan (2005?)
даже немного огрчила, так как ставить старые samba-vscan перехотелось,
так для нее необходимы исходники самбы, так и есть после каждого
обновления самбы придется пересобирать samba-vscan да и боюсь новой
самбе 3.2 исходный код ожет сильно отлчать от того который
предусмотрели samba-vscan.

Сканирование портов
Сканирование портов (port scanning) — способ обнаружения уязвимых узлов в сети путем обращения к разным портам хоста (подключенного к сети устройства) или к одному и тому же порту на разных хостах. Может применяться злоумышленниками на подготовительном этапе атаки для сбора информации о целевом хосте, а также специалистами по безопасности в качестве инструмента для поиска уязвимых мест IT-инфраструктуры.

Специалисты по безопасности используют эту информацию для совершенствования защиты ресурсов организации. Так, по результатам сканирования можно поместить уязвимые службы за брандмауэр и закрыть ненужные порты.
Защита от сканирования портов
Обнаружить попытку сканирования портов могут аппаратные и программные брандмауэры. При выявлении подобной активности брандмауэр может, например, на время открыть все порты, чтобы запутать злоумышленников.
Специалистам по безопасности стоит самостоятельно проводить сканирование портов, так как это позволит закрыть неиспользуемые порты и защитить хост или сеть от аналогичных действий злоумышленников. Это тоже метод защиты от несанкционированного сканирования портов.

Стоит McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.5i Patch 4 (c 1-м патчем та же история) обновления от 26 октября. Windows XP, сижу под админом.
Проблема в том, что не могу отключить сканирование доступа (On-Access Scan). См. шот: 
В консоли не нашел опций, которые могли бы с этим помочь. Где-то год назад, когда пользовался этим антивирем, такой проблемы не было.
Консоль случайно не залочена?
А что значит залочена?
В меню Tools опции Lock User Interface и Unlock User Interface серые, если это имеется ввиду. 
А ко всем другим настройкам консоли у меня есть доступ (только On-Access Scanner по-прежнему нельзя отключить).

Да, есть оказывается такая опция в настройках Access Protection, спасибо.
Зачем мне каждый раз заходить в консоль? Если мне нужно быстро отключить по каким-то причинам сканер, то проще ткнуть в иконку на панели.

У меня на Program files стоит исключение на проверку при чтении (на запись оставлена)
