press the esc key for startup menu что делать

‘Press the ESC key for startup Menu’

При включении ноутбука марки HP на черном экране в нижнем левом углу почти сразу появляется белая надпись ‘Press the ESC key for startup Menu’.

Press the ESC key for startup menu freezes on hp h8-1260t

after two days, I came back home and noticed my computer was on and saw nothing on screen except a dark bluish-black screen and i tried to get in but looked like it freezes, so I long press the power button and I turn it back on and one thing that was he hp logo and the message at the bottom cnter. Press the ESC for Startup Menu. so i kept pressing the ESC and nothing happens. I removed the battery and hard drive drive and put it back on. but the same screen and message appears. i tried pressing the F11, also F8, F10 but nothing happen. i also removed the USB but nothing happen too.

Please help me how to put it on a booting mode. im stuck on the same message.

Thank you in advance!

That scenario is certainly bad news. Was the computer on when you went away?

Edit: HERE is the spec page for that PC’s motherboard. Scroll down to this:

Did you follow the steps in the last post? Did anything change? If you cannot get into the BIOS, then it is done. Try a BIOS recovery. Some of the newer computers motherboards have a BIOS recovery but I cannot tell if that is one.

Yes. I did remove the cmos jumper and put it back on for 10 seconds but nothing happen just goes back to the same screen

im stuck on this screen and i’ve tried to take out the CMOS battery, BIOS reset but nothing happens. how can i get out from this problem?

I found THIS, but it is for a laptop. See if anything that post tells will work on your PC.

Also, you might need this info to try the BIOS recovery.

Sorry for the delay of my reply. I just want to thank you for taking the time to provide some solutions. However, after several tries, I still get stuck on the same message. Here’s what I did so far so would know what more I can do before buying MOBO or PSU or a whole new unit.

Desktop HP H8-1260t

I’ve been doing this since Friday and I have not find any success, still on the HP Logo Screen with the message «Press the ESC key for Startup Menu»

I found out that all USB ports front and back cant detect any wireless or wired keyboard or mouse when I power on but I when I plug my USB cable to my phone it charges.

So I’m really wondering what’s wrong with my PC. I need to troubleshoot first before I buy anything else. It doesnt make sense if I just buy a MOBO online when I am not certain what’s really the main problem.

Hope anyone can provide any suggestions or any instructions to repair this pc. Thank you very much.

press esc key for startup menu

I have a touchsmart 610 and i wanted to check the intel core it has so i turned it on and held f2 then i turned it off and tried to turn it on again hoping it would work normally but it led me to a screen where it says press esc key for startup menu i would press the esc key put nothing would happen even held it down i also tried the F keys and nothing would happen either is there some way i can get my desk top running

Turn the computer off.

Disconnect the AC power cord.

Hold-down the ON/OFF button for 10 seconds, to «drain» any residual electrical energy.

Reconnect the AC power cord.

Press on the ON/OFF button, and immediately start tapping the ESC key.

Do you get to a menu where you can launch the HP Hardware Diagnostics?

If so, launch it, and select the test(s) for the disk-drive.

Tell us the result. Pass? Fail?

hello unfortuneately it led me a place like this

processor type : intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @3.40GHz

Process Speed : 3400MHz

L1/L2/L3 Cache Size : 64KBx4 / 256KBx4 / 819KB

Memory Size 12288MB DDR3 / 1333 MHz / Dual Channel

Channel A : XMM1 2048 MB / XMM2 4096 MB

Channel B : XMM3 4096 MB / XMM4 2048 MB

BIOS Revision/Date : v7.15 03/01/2012

press the ESC key for Startup menu

Ive pressed the esc but still nothing happens

> Channel A : XMM1 2048 MB / XMM2 4096 MB

> Channel B : XMM3 4096 MB / XMM4 2048 MB

Your RAM will function more quickly if you reorder the RAM sticks to become:

> Channel A : XMM1 4096 MB / XMM2 4096 MB

> Channel B : XMM3 2048 MB / XMM4 2048 MB

This is the correct configuration to achieve «dual-channel» mode.

> press the ESC key for Startup menu

> I’ve pressed ESC but still nothing happens.

Are you sure that the keyboard’s connector is tightly inserted into its slot?

Have you tried a different keyboard?

thanks for the advice for the ram sticks but im sure my keyboard is connected correctly and i have used other keyboards but still theres no outcome

After viewing that «status» report, does pressing any of the F1-through-F12 keys cause any reaction?

I am having this same issue. I can either get to an HP screen that freezes or one that says:

Processor Type: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz

Processor Speed: 3400 MHz

L1/L2/L3 Cache Size: 64KBx4 / 256KBx4 / 8192KB

Channel A: XMM1 4096 MB / XMM2 4096 MB

Channel B: XMM3 4096 MB / XMM4 4096 MB

BIOS Revision/Date: v7.15 03/01/2012

and it also freezes. I’ve tried pressing ESC as soon as the computer starts up, I’ve tried pressing F8 and shift and out of frustration I’ve pressed about everything else, uuggg

This computer is loaded with so much information that I can’t lose. Please help!!

esc pause startup что делать

Esc. pause startup

Hey there! @hendra1992, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand when you turn on your PC the PC gets stuck at the startup menu and keyboard is not functioning.

Don’t worry I’ll try to help you out.

Did you make any hardware or software changes on your PC?

Have you tried checking with an external keyboard?

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

As you mentioned when you turn on your PC the PC gets stuck at the startup menu and keyboard is not functioning.

Try the steps recommended below to restore BIOS to default.

1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Also, I would suggest you enable Fast Start-Up on the system and check if it helps. To do this, follow the steps below.
1. Open Control Panel and go to Power Options.
2. Click/tap on the Choose what the power buttons do link on the left side.
3. Click/tap on the Change settings that are currently unavailable link at the top.
4. If prompted by UAC, then click/tap on Yes.
5. Ensure that Turn on Fast Startup is checked.
6. Restart the computer.

Try updating the BIOS and chipset driver on your PC and check if it helps.

You can try updating the drivers on your PC using HP support assistant.

Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps try the steps recommended below.

In Windows, search for Command Prompt. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. Then click Yes.
In Command Prompt, type sfc /scannow. Make sure to include the space between sfc and the /.
Press Enter and wait while System File Checker scans for corrupted files.
When scanning is complete, the results are displayed on the screen.
If the file checker found and replaced any corrupted files, restart the computer and check the performance.
If the file checker did not find any corrupted files or found corrupted files but could not replace them, go to the next step.
If System File Checker finds corrupted files but cannot replace them, use the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool. DISM checks the corrupted files; then downloads and replaces the files using Windows Update.
In Windows, open a web browser.
NOTE:
You need to be connected to the Internet to use DISM.
In Windows, search for Command Prompt. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. Then click Yes.
In Command Prompt, type dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth. Make sure to include the space before each / in the command line.
Press Enter and wait while DISM works. This might take several minutes.
If DISM finds corrupted files, it replaces them using Windows Update. If this occurs, after DISM is finished, restart your computer and see if the performance has improved.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot lock up or freezing issues with PC.

If the issue still persists try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware on your laptop is functioning correctly.
