Что это и с чем его едят?
C вечеринкой в формате п отлак я, между прочим, познакомилась только в Канаде. Сама не знаю, как до этого она обходила меня стороной! Возможно, я просто не знала названия?
Первый потлак, на который меня пригласили, проходил в школе. Всех приглашённых попросили приготовить что-то из своей национальной кухни и принести с собой. А так как кухни очень сильно отличаются, второй просьбой было написать название вашего произведения и его состав. Что вполне понятно, когда на вечеринке присутствуют представители минимум 16 стран, как тогда!
П осле этого понеслось, я уже и не помню, сколько потлаков я посетила. И скажу вам — я в восторге от такого формата! Сколько разных вкусностей я перебров а ла и скольких я накормила русскими пирожками и булочками — не сосчитать!

Потлак — что это и с чем его едят?
П роисхождение слова
П о поводу происхождения слава Potluck идут споры и, естественно, есть несколько теорий на этот счет.
Pot + luck
Но все же, основная теория происхождения потлака — это заимствование традиции и з средневековой Европы. Что за традиция такая? Все просто — т радиция не выбрасывать остатки. Все складывали в один горшок (Pot) и держали подогретым в печи, на случай, чтобы если вдруг нагрянул неожиданный гость, его было, чем накормить. Особенно такое практиковалось в тавернах и трактирах в средневековье, так что если вы неож и д а нно заявились и вам необходима горячая еда — вот он «горшочек удачи», все, что есть и горяченькое.
Главное, чтобы еда была горяченькой )
Теперь, как видите, идея трансформировалась и стала очень популярным форматом вечеринок и мероприятий. Как вам?
