node locked license что это
Software Copy Protection
Node-locked license (PC License) offers software-based copy protection that ties the application to a particular machine, via the computer hardware fingerprints (e.g. CPU, BIOS, HDD, and Ethernet). The Key (or license) is implemented on the hard disk drive. So there is no extra hardware dongle needed. It is a great way for online software distribution via the Internet.
Secure Software Distribution
Distribute your software with confidence, knowing that each copy is secured.
|
When started for the first time, the protected application creates the Key automatically on the hard drive that stores the machine hardware fingerprints. While the application is enforced to check and validate the Key, it is essentially locked to the machine. In addition, the protection system employs several tamper proofing techniques to safeguard against piracy attempts.
Non-Reusable License Key
When the user starts the application (not yet licensed), the registration dialog box pops up. The user must register to obtain a License Key in order to unlock the application. As the Registration ID is randomly generated, each copy or installation will generate a new different Registration ID. Therefore, the user can never reuse the same License Key.
Uncopyable Key
Any attempts to backup, copy, or modify the Key files will cause them to be seen as corrupted. As a result, the application will be non-functioning and require a new license.
Timestamp Validation
The protection system records and checks against the timestamp when the application is started. Any attempt to turn back the system clock (date) will invalidate the timestamp, causing the application to be non-functioning.
Serial Key Licensing
Turn your software into different versions easily through licensing.
The provided LicenseKey Manager allows you to generate License Key (or serial key) to license your software, and turn it into different versions. The tool provides various options for usage-based, time-based, and feature-based licensing. You can mix and match the options to create a variety of licensing schemes for your software. Here are some examples.
Shareware
Create shareware (or trialware) that users can try before buy. The scheme uses simple registered name/License Key to activate the full license.
Evaluation/Trial
Create a trial version that users can try, using random Registration ID/non-reusable License Key to activate the full license. The scheme offers higher security than traditional shareware.
Secure Evaluation
Create a more secure trial version that users must register for an evaluation key before use.
Feature-based License
Turn on/off the licensed modules to be encoded into the License Key. Or, add/change the modules for license upgrade.
Subscription License
Generate and send the user a new License Key that can renew or extend the subscription period.
Seamlessly integrate the licensing as part of your software.
Mode | Description |
---|---|
Predefined | The secret is generated by the vendor and passed on to the licensee (e.g. in a hardware dongle, or text-based encrypted key). At the same time vendor explicitly stores the secret in the corresponding license property via Console or API (see Licenses section below). Licensee validation will only succeed if the value provided in the nodeSecret validate parameter matches one of the stored ones. Since the secret must be stored in a license before the first validation, this mode can’t be combined with “Auto-create Licensee” mode. |
Client | This mode is similar to the Predefined, but secrets must not be stored in advance, instead a secret provided in the nodeSecret parameter on validate call will be stored if seen for the first time, and the number of already stored secrets is below the quota. This allows automatic locking to any secret provided by the licensee, typically hash of some HW related data (e.g. MAC address, CPU serial number, etc). This mode can be used with hardware dongle too: the dongle holds the secret, but it is only bound to the specific license on the first validate. |
License Templates
This licensing model requires one or more license templates of type QUANTITY, each specifying the quantity of allowed node secrets (via quota property) and a purchase price.
Multiple license templates allow to configure discounts, e.g.:

Node-Locked Licensing
Node-locked licensing is the standard FreeFlyer licensing scheme, in which each computer must have its own license file, generated based on the hardware information of that computer. Please review the appropriate sections below for your machine:
VM Licensing Service for Virtual Machines
If a virtual machine is hosting the license, the license may need to use the VDH_UUID host ID. If this is the case, the VM Licensing Service must be installed. Without the Licensing Service installed, the license information displayed by FreeFlyer’s report host information command line switch or the license information utility will say «Licensing Service Not Installed» in the VM_UUID and VDH_UUID fields, and a license based off one of these identifiers will not be valid. To use a license keyed off the machine’s VDH_UUID on a virtual machine, follow the instructions below for your Operating System to install the VM Licensing Service:
o Unzip the VM_Licensing_Service folder and navigate to the «Windows» folder
o Run «install_licensing_service.bat»
▪ If desired, you can check that the installation was successful by opening the Task Manager and confirming that a new background process called «Activation Licensing Service» is running, or by checking that the FreeFlyer license information is displaying values in the VM_UUID and/or VDH_UUID fields
o If it is not already installed, you will need to install the LSB package:
o Unzip the VM_Licensing_Service folder
o In the terminal, navigate to the directory where you have saved the installer («VM_Licensing_Service/Linux»)
o Enable the file for execution by running the following command:
o Install the program by running:

Legacy Perpetual Node-Locked Licenses
Introduction
This section describes how to activate a legacy perpetual node-locked rehostable license. Redshift subscription licenses are activated through Maxon App. If you have purchased floating licenses, please refer to the Floating licenses section for details on setting up a license server (RLM server) and configuring each client machine.
If you have purchased a legacy perpetual license of Redshift and installed a ‘customer-only’ build, you will need to obtain a license using your activation key along with the Redshift Licensing Tool.
An internet connection is required to obtain a license using the Redshift activation system.
Activating a Node-Locked License
To obtain a license file, run the Redshift Licensing Tool utility.
When you run the Redshift Licensing Tool for the first time, you should see a message indicating that no license was found.
With your activation key handy, click ‘Activate License’.
Enter your activation key, and click ‘Activate’ to obtain a license.
If the activation was successful, you will see a message stating ‘Activation successful!’ as well as details about your license.
If the activation fails, please follow the instructions shown in the error message.
You are now ready to use Redshift!
Deactivating a Node-Locked License
Deactivating a node-locked license releases your license from a given machine thereby allowing you to activate the license on a different machine. Another common reason to deactivate a license is when making system changes. Redshift rehostable node-locked licenses use a system fingerprint to uniquely identify your machine as being associated with a given license and therefore whenever you make any system changes, you should always first deactivate your license, then re-activate once the changes have been made.
To deactivate your license, simply run the Redshift Licensing Tool and click the Deactivate License button, then follow the on-screen instructions.
A successful deactivation will present you with a screen like this. The License tool also conveniently remembers your previously used Activation Code for quicker license switching.
Transferring a Node-Locked License
To transfer a license between machines simply requires deactivating the license on one machine and activating it on the other. For example, to move a license from machine A to machine B, first deactivate the license on machine A then activate the license on machine B. An internet connection is required for both machine A and machine B to deactivate and activate the license.
