I am trying to get an account on GameRanger for multiplayer play in Star Wars Battlefront.

They haven’t sent me a confirmation email to validate my account, thus I can’t go any further (meaning I cant logon to MP mode)

I sent requests yesterday afternoon. I tried with 2 separate email addys.

Did you just try browsing for multiplayer games withint SWBF? Gamespy and Gameranger (if the Mac version is similar to the windows versions of similar software) would be external apps that would start the game via command line to connect you to the multiplayer game.

There should be a browser (dang, now you got me wanting to install) inside that will show a list inside the game itself with all the multiplayer games SWBF finds. Although considering the age of the game there might not be a lot. But see if there is a built in browser to look at available multiplayer games. If there is and you can connect I see no need for a 3rd party app to show you a list of games.

вы находитесь за NAT’ом провайдера, к вам подключиться из глобальной сети невозможно. Для обхода этого ограничения необходима дополнительная точка подключения «снаружи».

я к сожалению не знаю есть ли у gameranger система клиент-сервер или они работают как одноуровневая сеть

Купи у провайдера внейшний (выделенный, белый) Ip адрес. Звонишь в тех.поддержку, представляешься, говоришь «хочу внешний ip», тебе зарядят 200р в абонентскую плату и сможешь хостить.

Мой провайдер даже не представляет что это. (NAT router)
А с белым IP пока подожду.)

Написано же, пробрось порт udp 16000 до своего компа.

Okay, I’ll just cut to the chase:

I’ve successfully downloaded GameRanger onto my laptop, however, whenever I try to download it to my desktop, it works until a certain time [every time] when it says:

Download Not Complete:

The download cannot be completed.

Once I hit «OK» it brings up another window which says:

No Response from GameRanger Server:

There was no response after contacting the GameRanger server.

Click the Connect button to try again.

PLease make sure your Internet connection is working. You may need to check with your ISP or network administrator to make sure your Proxy Settings are correct.

If you still don’t have any luck, there may be temporary network problems somewhere on the Internet and you may have to try again a little later.

I have tried this like four different days; it never works.

Any advice/thoughts, hopefully from someone who has had and overcome this problem before?

Ladies and Gentlemen, wear sunscreen. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be IT. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.

When I downloaded Game Ranger I did «save» instead of «open». Then I installed it from the folder where I saved it. I also put the program on a jump stick and shared it with our friend that has dial up. And where I saved the program is in a shared file, so Slim can access and install it from his PC if he wants.

Can you jump stick a copy of the program to your other PC?

. so the only advice I can offer is to check your network cables, and makes sure that your connection isn’t flickering (maybe you’re on wireless?).

Okay, I think I have wireless (Is that bad??). I checked them all; plugged them back in tightly, and will try again shortly.

However, is it a wireless problem reservedly? Because my laptop is not hooked up to my modem either.

I’ve experienced similar errors, but not when downloading GR.

Nslookup – отображает информацию, которую вы можете использовать для диагностики инфраструктуры доменных имен (DNS). Перед использованием этого инструмента вы должны быть знакомы с тем, как работает DNS. Инструмент командной строки nslookup доступен, только если вы установили протокол TCP / IP.

Что значит “Не заслуживающий доверия ответ”?

Сообщение “Не заслуживающий доверия ответ:” (Non-authoritative answer: ) означает только то, что DNS-сервер по умолчанию, не является владельцем зоны запрашиваемого домена, т.е. записей об этом домене в его собственной базе нет, и для предоставления информации был сделан рекурсивный запрос к другому серверу DNS. Так что в принципе, в этом сообщении ничего страшного нет.
